How much subsidy will you get?
Based on the 2025 guidelines of the central SMAM scheme (Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization, now part of PM-RKVY). The state agriculture department decides.

Tractors above 40 PTO HP are mostly funded through custom hiring centres; the quota for individual farmers is small.
The subsidy reaches your bank account (DBT) after purchase and verification. Buy only a tested machine from a dealer listed by your state. If applications exceed the target, an online lottery decides.
How to apply in Uttar Pradesh
- Register as a farmer on the UP Agriculture Department portal (agriculture.up.gov.in / agridarshan.up.gov.in) with Aadhaar, mobile number and bank account
- When a booking window opens, go to 'Kisan Corner' > 'Yantra Booking Prarambh' on agridarshan.up.gov.in
- Choose the machine and generate a booking token (one token per mobile number); pay the refundable security deposit online
- Wait for selection (the 2026 window was announced first-come-first-served; earlier rounds used e-lottery)
- After selection, buy from an empanelled dealer within the deadline and upload the bill, machine photo and serial number
- After physical verification the subsidy is credited by DBT

Subsidy = 50% or 40% of the price, but never more than this ceiling. Ceilings include GST.

Other schemes
Crop Residue Management (CRM)
In Punjab, Haryana, UP, MP and Delhi: 50% to farmers and 80% to hiring centres (up to ₹24 lakh) on super seeders, happy seeders, mulchers, balers and similar.
Solar pumps — PM-KUSUM
Solar pump subsidy comes through PM-KUSUM, via your state nodal agency. pmkusum.mnre.gov.in
Drip and sprinkler — PMKSY
Micro-irrigation subsidy comes from “Per Drop More Crop”, via the state horticulture/agriculture department. pmksy.gov.in
Farm drones
Up to ₹5 lakh (50% group) or ₹4 lakh (40% group) for farmers. Women SHGs get 80%, up to ₹8 lakh, under Namo Drone Didi.
